2000: Assigned to Class A Salem....earned two wins and a save in first six appearances of season....combined with Chuck Crowder (16 Ks) to strikeout 19 batters 5/28 vs. Lynchburg.
1999: Once again assigned to Class A Asheville....picked up first win while striking out six of ten batters faced in three innings of no-hit relief 5/20 vs. Columbus 9-5....got second win with three innings of shutout relief 6/2 vs. Hickory....promoted to Class A Salem (Va.) 7/25....made Carolina League debut allowing one run on hits in two inning relief stint 7/26 at Myrtle Beach....earned first Carolina League win with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief 7/30 vs. Frederick....retired both batters he faced in relief, including one by strikeout, to get second win 8/26 vs. Lynchburg.
1998: Selected in 18th round of 1998 Draft by Colorado Rockies...initially assigned to Class A Portland of the Northwest League, then reassigned to Class A Asheville of the South Atlantic League....made pro debut by striking out two in an inning of scoreless relief 6/23 at Greensboro....earned first professional win with 2.1 innings of perfect relief to beat Charleston (S.C.) 7/29.
At Tech:
1998: recorded last four outs to gain save 2/14 at Georgia Southern...picked up win with two innings of shutout relief 3/11 vs. Jacksonville State...worked seven innings in starting role to beat Georgia State 4/1...struck out the side on called third strikes to gain save as Tech rallied to beat N.C. State 4/4...returned to starting role to fire a seven-hit complete game victory against Georgia 4/7....tagged with four straight losing decisions, including three during eight day stretch, in latter half of April....recorded back-to-back saves 5/3 - 5/4 vs. Clemson....snapped personal losing with win in relief 5/9 at Maryland....named second team All-ACC.
1997: Co-captain of 1997 team...picked up win with three innings of scoreless relief 2/23 vs. Evansville...pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing just three hits, to beat Western Carolina 3/12...struck out career-high 12 vs. Maryland 3/29...went distance on a two-hit shutout in surprise starting role as Jackets beat Southwestern Louisiana 8-0 in second game of NCAA Mideast Regional.
