Class of 2005, B.S. Management. Scrappy, hard-working player who parlayed an opportunity to play in 2004 into excellent collegiate career....graduated with B.S. Management in May 2005....played as a graduate student in 2006. 2007: Released by Detroit organization during Spring Training. 2006: Named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week for 4/17-23 after going 8-for-13 (.615) with three walks, six RBI and six runs scored over four games against Georgia State and Florida State....signed free agent contact with Detroit and reported to Tigers' Gulf Coast League affiliate....saw duty in 12 games before suffering season-ending injury. 2005: Second-team All-ACC second baseman....posted back-to-back three-hit games vs. Virginia Tech 5/13-14....hit team-leading .449 during regular season conference play.
2004: Used in utility role to start season....homered while driving in career-high four runs vs. Duke 5/9....Stepped in to handle regular duties at third base following season-ending injury to Wes Hodges 5/11 starting the final 17 games of the season, while going 26-for-62 (.419) with three home runs and 11 RBI....hit safely in nine straight games 5/16 to 5/29 including 7-for-15 showing with two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored in regular season ending series vs. Maryland....belted solo home run as a part of a three-hit effort in Tech's 13-inning victory over Clemson in ACC Tournament....overall, enjoyed solid post-season at the plate going 9-for-17 (.368) with a home run in the ACC Tournament while hitting .389 (7-for-18) with two doubles, three RBI and four runs scored in NCAA tournament action. 2002: Red-shirted during 2002 campaign...spent summer playing for the Marietta Red Sox. High School: A four-year letterwinner for coach Dan Perez at the Marist School as a shortstop, third baseman and pitcher....Helped Marist to state runner-up finishes in 1999 and 2000....Named all-county as a junior and senior....Good athlete who also lettered four years as a quarterback for coach Alan Chadwick on the football team....Posted a 25-2 record as Marist's starting quarterback....Earned all-county honors as a junior and senior in football....Football team finished in the top five in the state in each of his four years....Team captain in both baseball and football as a senior.
