Hard throwing right-hander with a good mix of off-speed pitches....Leading candidate for closing duties in 2008....A 35th round selection by the Texas Rangers in the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft, but elected to enroll at Tech instead.

2007: Member of starting rotation to begin season before being sidelined for three weeks by triceps tendinitis....went 1-0 with 10.80 ERA in four starts, including victory over Duquesne....went 2-0 with 6.94 ERA in 10 relief appearances....worked 2-1/3 scoreless innings to get the win vs. NC State 4/22....went five innings in relief to gain win at North Carolina 5/12....worked as closer for Wareham Gatemen of Cape Cod League during the summer....Member of the 2007 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

2006: Recorded two wins while not allowing a run in four February relief appearances....continued as key member of the bullpen, before starting in four of his last five outings....pitched for Wareham Gatemen of Cape Cod League during the summer.

High School: Spent his senior season at Milton High School after three years at Lafayette High School in St. Louis....Went 4-4 and recorded two saves as a senior at Milton, and pitched two one-hitters....Named to the all-area team....Went 5-1 with a 1.48 ERA as a junior at Lafayette....also participated in baseball, basketball and soccer at Lafayette....Rated as the No. 398 prospect in the nation....Posted an 8-1 record for the 2005 East Cobb Yankees and helped his team win the Connie Mack World Series.
