Excellent defensive catcher who completed his collegiate career in 2006....Has a quick release and a strong, accurate arm.
2006: Shared catching duties with Matt Wieters....scored career-best four runs during 3/3 game vs. Rutgers....matched career-high with three-hit effort at Florida State 4/23.
2005: Assumed No. 1 catching duties for junior campaign....posted 10-game hitting streak from 3/1 to 3/23....collected three hits and three RBI in games against Maryland 4/3 and Winthrop 4/10....selected to All-Tournament team for NCAA Atlanta Regional....threw out 15-of-43 (35%) basestealers for the season including ACC stolen base leader Shane Robinson of Florida State twice (4/15 and 5/27)....taken by Chicago Cubs in 48th round of June Draft....joined Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes Collegiate Baseball League and played in nine games over the summer.
2004: Saw regular action as Tech's No. 2 catcher including handling duties for starts by Andrew Kown....Went 3-for-4 with home run and career-best four RBI vs. Villanova 2/21....also turned in three-hit efforts vs. Purdue (3/17), North Carolina (4/11) and Georgia State (4/6 and 5/18)....Played for Bourne Braves of Cape Cod League during summer.
2003: Rookie catcher who started 25 games behind the plate and played in 32 games overall....Had 10 multi-hit and three multiple-RBI games....Went 2-for-3 with a run, an RBI, and a stolen base in first collegiate start 2/15 at Georgia Southern....was 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI against Duke (5/24) in the ACC Tournament....played for Delaware Cows of Great Lakes League during summer.
