Talented right-handed pitcher who was red-shirted during 2003 season....Showed positive signs during fall practice....Has a good, live fastball and an outstanding slider....Has tremendous upside and will continue to improve with added consistency....Drafted in the 45th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, but opted to attend Tech instead....Hails from the same hometown (Germantown, Tenn.) as former Tech shortstop Jay Hood....transferred to Mississippi State for 2004 season.

High School: A three-year letterwinner for coach Buster Kelso at Christian Brothers High School as a pitcher and first baseman....Helped Christian Brothers win the state championship in 2000 and 2001, and was the winning pitcher in both of those championship games....Posted a 7-0 record and a 0.79 ERA as a senior....Earned all-state, all-district and all-metro honors as a junior and senior....Named MVP of the 2001 USA Classic and was selected to the all-tournament team at the National Classic....Spent the summer of 2002 with Dulinís Dodgers and helped the team win the AAU National Championship in Ft. Myers, Fla.
