Born July 15, 1980 at Seoul, Korea....Received $1.7 million bonus for signing with Atlanta Braves as a non-drafted free agent on Nov. 13, 1997....studied English as a Foreign Language at Georgia Tech....made Major League debut 4/22/2002....traded to Cincinnati Reds 3/26/2004....began 2005 season on disabled list while recovering from September 2004 shoulder surgery....broke his pitching hand during his first rehab appearance for Class A Sarasota in June ending his season....pitched for Korea in 2006 World Baseball Classic....released by Reds 5/10/2006 in order to return to Korea and continue his professional career there while being close to his family....signed a 1.35 billion won ($1.43 million) deal with the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization 5/18/06....helped Korea to gold medal at 2008 Olympics in Beijing....again pitched for Korea in 2009 World Baseball Classic.
