WALK-OFF SINGLE LIFTS CLEMSON PAST TECH 3-2

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Pinch-hitter Ben Hall singled home Taylor Harbin in in the bottom of the ninth as Clemson edged Georgia Tech 3-2 to remain unbeaten in the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Tournament at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Matt Wieters, who entered the game to begin the ninth inning in relief of Lee Hyde, took the loss.

Starter Lee Hyde pitched a career-high eight innings and gave up just two runs on seven hits but was not involved in the no-decision.

The Jackets battled back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the eighth on Jeff Kindel's two-out RBI single in the eighth inning.

The game did not end until 12:34 a.m. due to a two-hour, 25-minute lightning and rain delay that halted the preceding Virginia-N.C.State.

The win earns Clemson a bye into Saturday's semifinal game while Georgia Tech will meet Miami on Fridayb night in an elimination game.
