- Due to a scheduling conflict, Fenway Park will be unable to host the 2009 ACC Baseball Championships. The event is now scheduled to be played in Boston in 2010. Durham Bulls Athletic Park is the new venue for the 2009 Championships.
- RHP Deck McGuire has been named the top prospect for the Coastal Plain League. Jeff Rowland and Patrick Long are among the Top 10 prospects for the Cal Ripken Sr. League.
- Charlie Blackmon, Brad Feltes, Jason Haniger and Tony Plagman have been named to the 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained at least a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

- Boys of Summer - 2008: Derek Dietrich has completed his summer with Team USA. The Jackets are well represented in the Cape Cod League as Brandon Cumpton and Zach Von Tersch pitched for the Cotuit Kettleers, Zach Brewster, Chris Hicks and Cole Leonida were teammates with the Wareham Gatemen and Tony Plagman began the summer with the Orleans Cardinals before joining the Lowell All-Americans of the NECBL. Jeff Ussery and Taylor Wood were teammates with the Asheboro Copperheads of the Coastal Plain League. Deck McGuire (Peninsula Pilots) pitched in the CPL. Andrew Robinson has returned to the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods League. Chase Burnette, Kevin Jacob, Patrick Long and Jeff Rowland are all with Youse's Maryland Orioles of the Cal Ripken Sr. League. Chris House and Thomas Nichols have signed on to play for the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League. Jed Bradley, Jake Davies, Jarrett Didrick, Evan Martin, Brandon Miller and Matt Skole are playing for the East Cobb Yankees. Bryce Robinson is with the Indiana Bulls and Connor Winn is playing for the Georgia Roadrunners.
